More Booze Bans

The ability to drink on San Diego beaches is already in trouble thanks to last year’s beach fight fiasco.  Now there is a call to restrict alcohol usage in Balboa Park.  The Balboa Park Committee - and who knew there was such a thing? - is looking to limit alcohol consumption to certain areas of the park and certain hours.  Right now, people can drink alcohol anywhere in the park from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.  The proposed plan would limit drinking alcohol to nine specified areas from noon to 8 p.m.  The restaurants would not be affected. 

Not exactly a draconian plan but people are sure to complain.  The Committee votes on Thursday.
