The Superfrog
Author: HelenKay, Category: All For Charity, Beaches, Exercise, Military
Love Coronado? Love the Navy SEALs? Love exercise? Love at least one of those…?
Sunday (April 6th) is the Superfrog Triathlon. That’s just the best name ever. It stands for a triathlon consisting of a 1.2-mile swim, 54-mile bike ride and 13.1-mile run. The highlight, of course, is that you get to race along with the SEALs. The other good news is that this benefits a great cause. The proceeds go to the Naval Special Warfare Foundation, an organization that honors those who have served in the sea commando services since WWII.
The event takes place at Silver Strand Beach. You can register here. Or, if you’re like me, just come out to watch people who are in such great shape get even more fit.

March Madness Run
Author: HelenKay, Category: Events & Happenings, Exercise, Neighborhoods, Sports
For most people, the term March Madness relates to college basketball where the closest thing to exercise is making a beer run. But it can also mean real exercise. Thanks to the Rancho Bernardo Kiwanis club, March Madness means the March Madness Trail Run. So, on Sunday (March 2nd) you can exercise instead of just watching people on television exercise.
The run/walk starts at 7:45 a.m. Meet at the Rancho Bernardo Community Park and run/walk along the San Dieguito River Park southeast of Lake Hodges.
Not bad…and there’s a pancake breakfast after. Check here for more information.

Keep Those Resolutions
Author: HelenKay, Category: Events & Happenings, Exercise
With the holidays over, now is the time to live up to all of those resolutions you made. You know the ones: drink less, eat less, exercise more. There are others, but those tend to be the biggies. To help you with the exercise one, something called the San Diego Resolution Run takes place this weekend.
The run goes around Mission Bay on Saturday, Janurary 5th. You can register at 6:00 a.m. You get two hours to finish. Due to the time limit, if you’re walking instead of running then walk fast.
